-three important decisions are made:
1-declare independence-create           emergency government 
2-Thomas Jefferson is appointed to write the "treasonous" document 
3-George Washington is appointed to command the "new" continental army
Declaration of Independence 
3 parts: 
            1) introduction-reasons why they have s right to separate from Great Britain (mother country)
             2) grievances (complaints) against the crown and parliament 
             3) reborn as the 13 United States of America
