Week of January 18-22, 2016

This week we will conclude significant events of Constitutional Convention 1787 and begin Ratification Debate

*A new constitution is made
*James Madison "Father of the U.S. Constitution

*Two major issues at the convention regarding the Legislative Branch
   -Issue #1 How states should be represented in congress: New Jersey Plan vs. Virginia Plan=The Great Compromise

   -Issue #2 Should slaves count for purposes of a states population: North vs. South=3/5th Compromise

Still many disagreed with the new constitution and felt that peoples rights were not guaranteed, a huge debate took place regarding ratification of it.
